Nutrition

As a nation we are waking up to the reality that how we feed our bodies has everything to do with our quality of life. Through optimal nutrition, we create:

  • Radiance and vitality in our bodies
  • Mental clarity and focus
  • Positive and conscious thought patterns
  • Emotional balance
  • A more spiritual connection to life

Step One- Blood Sugar Stabilization

This is the foundation of all nutrition and it’s the place I begin with all my clients. By stabilizing your blood sugar levels (glucose in your blood) with the right food in the right ratios and eaten in the right intervals, you create balance (homeostasis) which allows your body to release stored body fat, toxins, and excess sodium, while protecting lean muscle mass and powering up your metabolism.

In addition, blood sugar stabilization balances your brain chemistry and hormones which will also support your state of mind and promotes a sense of well-being.

Step Two- Alkalizing Your Blood

In your second follow up, after you are a pro at knowing how to blood sugar stabilize, I take you to the next step which is learning how to de-acidify and alkalize your blood with nutrition and specific remedies.

The pH of your blood is tightly regulated by a complex system of buffers that are continuously at work to maintain a range of 7.35 to 7.45, which is slightly more alkaline than pure water. If the pH of your blood falls below 7.35, the result is a condition called acidosis, a state that leads to central nervous system depression. Severe acidosis – where blood pH falls below 7.00 – can lead to a coma and even death.

Most people do not realize the devastating effects that being acidic has on our health. The symptoms of an overly acidic body are weight gain, decreased energy, inflammation, increased toxins, mental fog, heartburn, digestive issues, acid reflux/GERD, cancer, gingivitis, and osteopenia/osteoporosis. When we maintain proper pH levels, injuries heal faster and health challenges improve more quickly. When we have pH balance, the body is oxygenated and therefore can detoxify and heal itself. If cells are energized in this way, we develop a strong immunity to diseases and a significantly lower propensity for cancer.

Visit my blog and learn how to perform a simple at home test in order to find out if you are acidic.

If you test out acidic, I will help you learn how to de-acidify and alkalize your blood through nutrition and specific natural remedies.

If you are not acidic at this time, it is just as important to understand how to maintain that balance because it is true that everyone becomes acidic throughout the year without even realizing it.

The Difference Between Food Allergy Testing
and Food Sensitivity/Intolerance Testing

A Food allergy is an IgE immune system response that is typically characterized by hives, shortness of breath, upset stomach and in some cases anaphylaxis. The most common food allergies are to nuts, shellfish, wheat and dairy. According to the Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network, only about 4% of the United States population has a food allergy. The food sensitivity/intolerance test does not detect food allergies.

Food intolerance and sensitivity is more common than food allergies and is characterized by digestive disorders, migraines, obesity, chronic fatigue, aching joints, skin disorders and behavioral issues. It has been stated that upwards of 70-80% of the US population has food intolerance. Unfortunately for many, those food intolerance symptoms are often identified as individual problems and treated as such, thus treating the symptoms and not the cause.
